6 Ways to Detox your Body

6 Ways to Detox your Body

To start, you might be wondering why detoxing is important. Well, let me tell you it is because it will make your body work the way it should. Our bodies are made to work perfectly, but through years of polluting it, it starts fighting intruders (toxins) and stops doing its job (fighting disease, regenerating tissues, etc.).

As an example (probably a weird example), think of you body as a carpet: they can look fine on the outside, but be a mess on the inside. A carpet can look clean and if you spill something on it you will run to clean it up. I’m not worried about the breadcrumbs, I’m more worried about the dust and dirt that filters through the carpet and stays there (seriously, have you ever seen a carpet being removed? It’s gross). Well, the same happens with people, they think they are healthy, until the become sick; but, they didn’t get sick over night, just like the carpet, the damage happened over time, gradually and not perceived by the eyes.

Getting back to the topic, everyone should do a detox, but it’s hard when you don’t know where to start or how to do it. Let me explain you something, a detox is something that should be done daily, a continuous habit, just like you brush you teeth daily, you need to detox daily. It doesn’t need to be an extreme detox for 30 days or every 10 years. It needs to be a constant change in your habits to achieve lasting results.

Where to start?

1. Cleansing your colon

You can take the best multivitamins in the world, but if you sewage system is not working properly, you are just wasting money because your are not getting rid of toxins. You first need to get rid of ALL the crap you have been accumulating in your intestines for your whole life.

  • Green tea or other types of detox teas
  • Water
  • Fiber (Water is like a lubricant, you can eat as much fiber as you want to, if you don’t drink water, fiber will just block your intestines)
  • Exercise (keeps things moving)

2. Cleansing your urinary track

EVERYTHING you put into your body goes through the liver. When I say “everything”, I mean EVERYTHING: food, fluids, alcohol, pills, body lotions, shampoo, conditioner, nail polish, deodorant, toothpaste… you get the point right? So, it doesn’t matter how good you eat and how much you exercise, nowadays your liver gets so many more toxins than a our grandparents did. As a consequence, we need to detox our liver

4. Cleans lymph nodes

Please, do a quick Google search about the Lymphatic system on Google or simply click here to know more about it. As part of the lymphatic system, the lymph nodes are in charged of the proper functioning of the immune system, they act like filters for cancer cells and toxins. Now that you know how important it is, would it make any sense to block your lymph nodes? Of course not, that’s where problems usually start. As an example (and I’m sorry it will be kind of gross), let’s say you had food poisoning and you have diarrhea, do you think it would be better to block it (because it’s annoying) or to let it help your body cleanse itself? I hope you chose option 2. There are many types of body fluids that are released as a way of cleansing and there should be no reason to stop them from happening.

How to cleans your lymph nodes?

  • Bras – They block the lymph nodes in your underarm area. Make sure your are using the right ones for your size and shape, that they are not too tight and that you get many hours a day without one.
  • Deodorants and antiperspirants- I’m not saying you should smell bad to be healthy, but you should try to find a deodorant that kills the bacteria that causes bad smells, and ditch the antiperspirants because they contain aluminum and they block your lymph nodes from releasing sweat (which is full of toxins).
  • Massages – They can help with a blockage in the lymph nodes and recover their natural flow

5. Parasite Cleanse

When was the last time you dewormed yourself? There is no good or bad answer. Most likely it’s been a while because the normal person believes they don’t have parasites. Well, let me bring you big news, if you’re a mammal, you most likely have parasites. It is not a matter of how clean you are, they just love our bodies. Your chances of having those beautiful little creatures are higher if you eat pork, raw or under cooked meats, don’t wash vegetables properly, if you have pets, among others.

How to get rid of parasites?

  • Consume worm seed, clove or wormwood
  • Cut your sweet consumption (they love sweets)
  • Coffee enemas

6. Heavy Metal Detox

Here is something very interesting I heard one time (I can’t remember where): did you know that parasites know we can’t get rid of heavy metals, so they pair with them and become almost invincible. This means that you can try every trick in the world to get rid of parasites, but until you don’t get rid of heavy metals, they are bulletproof. The trick here is to get rid of heavy metals first in order to get rid of parasites.

How get rid of heavy metals?

  • Eat a clean, alkaline, organic diet
  • Lemon water before breakfast
  • Spirulina
  • Chlorella
  • Garlic
  • Green Tea

Detoxing as a lifestyle

As mentioned above, all of these are foods, herbs, and teas that can easily be incorporated in your daily routine. Also, as an alternative option, you can use essential oils because their efficacy is amazing and they will do the job. You can achieve so much by cleansing your body and living in a healthy way, choosing a green tea over a soda, for example. On the other hand, it is so important to detox your body, but it is equally important to stop contaminating it. Be mindful of what you are putting into your body and remember that knowledge is power,
